NYU Teacher Residencyis another new opportunity within SFUSD to become a teacher. SFUSD has partnered with NYU Steinhardt’s School of Culture, Education, and Human Development to bring the NYU Teacher Residency to select SFUSD middle schools. The NYU Teacher Residency in SF is an innovative master’s and teacher residency program to prepare talented and diverse teachers in English, social studies, math, the sciences, and special education to be successful in reaching and teaching all students. Key features include:
Cohorts in SFUSD middle schools
Gradual release of responsibility into teaching
On-Site Local Residency Director to lead the program and support residents and teaching mentors
Intensive Coaching and Feedback, live and using cutting edge technology
Weekly sync sessions with your cohort and NYU faculty members with expertise teaching in special education, supporting emergent bilinguals, literacy, teaching in your content area, and other critical topics in urban education

Pathway to Teaching
Pathway to Teaching is a new opportunity to become a teacher being developed by SFUSD professionals. Candidates participate in intensive summer field placement, and earn an intern teacher salary while receiving intensive coaching. Learn more at Pathway to Teachingor Facebook.
The Paraeducator to Teacher Training Program (PTTP) recruits and supports SFUSD paraeducators to become credentialed, exemplary teachers in the district's high need areas of Special Education, Secondary Mathematics and Science and Bilingual Ed.
